The “Our Force 1” digital sneaker collection will be launching on .Swoosh, the brand’s Web3 platform.
Sportswear giant Nike has airdropped its first non-fungible token (NFT) sneaker collection on .Swoosh, a new platform that aims to build a community around its branded digital wearables.
The sneaker collection, called Our Force 1 (OF1) pays homage to the sportswear brand’s iconic Air Force 1 design.
From April 18, Nike will begin airdropping “OF1 posters” to select .Swoosh users, which will grant users first access to the sneaker collection sale on May 8. OF1 posters will only be awarded to existing community members of .Swoosh.
The NFT sneaker collection will then be available to the entire .Swoosh community on May 10, where users can purchase them through the platform’s marketplace.

The Our Force 1 drop will have users picking between two digital boxes – the “Classic Remix” and the “New Wave” box. Each box type corresponds to different designs featured in the collection, including a design co-created by four Nike fans in a contest held in January.
Each box will be priced at $19.82, a tribute to the year that the original Air Force 1 sneaker was first released.
According to Nike, each OF1 box NFT will come with a paired 3D file that holders can use to “express themselves in new ways.” The brand also plans to add broader utility to the OF1 NFTs, including “exclusive physical products or experiences,” in the future.
“We are exploring new ways to tell stories and create relationships while removing the barriers and limitations of physical product,” said Ron Faris, general manager of Nike Virtual Studios, in a press release.
Nike’s OF1 announcement comes days after sportswear competitor brand Adidas dropped the first instalment of its ALTS dynamic NFT collection, which grants holders access to the ALTS by Adidas ecosystem and interactive storylines.
About .Swoosh
Nike launched a beta version of its .Swoosh platform in November, signalling that the brand is ready to take on the world of Web3.
.Swoosh is a platform that hopes to onboard users to Web3, while also being a platform to buy and trade digital collectibles. The company adds that items purchased on .Swoosh can be worn in compatible video games and other immersive experiences.
With .Swoosh, members can also create their own digital collectibles, and be able to earn royalties from sales.
“We are shaping a marketplace of the future with an accessible platform for the Web3-curious. In this new space, the .SWOOSH community and Nike can create, share, and benefit together,” said Faris.
